  1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS SHOWN ON
  2. THIS DISK:
  3.  
  4. The program Back & Forth, contained on this two disk set from SHAREWARE
  5. TO GO, contains this file README.IST.  This file has your installation
  6. instructions for the program.  This file will print out, along with others,
  7. when you type the command:    MANUAL 
  8.  
  9. To install the program, first print out the documentation by using the
  10. procedure shown above on BOTH disks.  Then follow the instructions given
  11. below.

  13. Please read this section on how to install Back & Forth on your hard disk.

  17. In the below example, the machine that we are installing B&F onto has:
  18.              640k RAM
  19.              Drive A: is a floppy disk
  20.              Drive C: is a hard disk with  5 megabytes free
  21.              Drive D: is a hard disk with 10 megabytes free
  22.              Drive E: is a RAM disk with 4 megabytes available
  23.              EMS memory with 2 megabytes available
  24.  
  25. Note: This is not the minimum configuration required; it is only stipulated
  26. so that we can demonstrate the installation of Back & Forth onto your system 
  27. using various system elements.

  31. Step 1:  Creating the B&F directory
  32.  
  33.          Create a directory on your hard disk C named B&F and make it the
  34.          current directory. If you wish to use another disk or directory, 
  35.          substitute that name below as appropriate.

  38.          MD C:\B&F
  39.          CD \B&F
  40.

  43. Step 2:  Copy B&F to the directory
  44.  
  45.          Copy all files from disks #1128 & #1129 into the B&F directory. 
  46.          Use the following command:
  47.          
  48.          COPY A:*.* C:\B&F
  49.

  52. Step 3:  Extracting B&F
  53.  
  54.          The files supplied are ZIPPED or compressed. They must be UNZIPPED or
  55.          uncompressed before use. Make sure you are logged onto the C:\B&F drive
  56.          & subdirectory that you copied the files into. Then type the following:
  57.          
  58.          PKUNZIP *   (PRESS ENTER)
  59.          
  60.          The files will now be UNZIPPED & ready for use.

  65. Step 4:  Now Print out the main instruction manual contained in a ready-to-use
  66.          format.  While still logged into the C:\B&F subdirectory type the
  67.          command:
  68.          
  69.          MANUAL      (PRESS ENTER)
  70.          
  71.          This will print out the complete full sized manual necessary to 
  72.          install & operate the program. Please read thoroughly before
  73.          attempting to run the program.
